Analysis of methylation patterns in four regions of the PPARγ promoter (M1-M4) in various colorectal cancer (CRC) cell lines treated with BSA alone as a control, and in those treated with polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). (A) DNA methylation profiles of four regions within the PPARγ promoter were identified using the MSP method. Cell lines showing both methylated () and unmethylated () variants are referred to as hemimethylated, in which methylation occurs in only one of two strands of DNA within the promoter region.
